The Federation of BC Youth in Care Networks (FBCYICN, or the Fed) is a youth-driven, provincial, non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of young people between the ages of 14 and 24 who are or have been in care.

We were created by a group of young people in care who saw the need for more supports for their peers.  That was in 1993, and today we still stay true to their vision.  Our programs create a safe space for youth to come together, build connections, identify challenges and feel at home.  Throughout the year we host youth retreats, provide bursaries for education and skills development, support youth with training and leadership opportunities and distribute resources and information to young people and their allies across the province.

Rights for Children and Youth in Foster Care and leaving care - BC information

You have rights while you are in foster care and you will find them on this site. If your rights are not being respected there are people to talk to who will take action to make sure that they are respected.  There are also options for you once you leave care either to return home, go on independence or once you have aged out. You may also be eligible for scholarships or bursaries or financial help with training and education costs if you were in care.
