The Federation of BC Youth in Care Networks (FBCYICN, or the Fed) is a youth-driven, provincial, non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of young people between the ages of 14 and 24 who are or have been in care.

Ages & Stages Questionnaire clinics are offered on the last Thursday of every month from 10-12pm, to provide parents with current information and age-appropriate information on their child’s developmental milestones.

CCRR offers many services for young children and their families:

• Support services for young children – birth to three years old – who have a delay in their development or who are at risk for a delay in their development.
• This service is also for very young children who have been diagnosed with a disability or who have a medical condition.

CCRR offers many services for young children and their families:

The trained volunteers of the Golden Hospice Society provide support to individuals and families facing a terminal diagnosis.

The Hospice Society volunteers also provide support to those who are grieving the death of a person close to them.

Golden Mental Health is located at the hospital and provides mental health programs for adults: short-term individual counselling; services for people with severe or persistent mental illness;  programs for elderly clients; Changeways group sessions for clients dealing with anxiety, stress, and depression.

OPT – Options for Sexual Health.

• Confidential, non-judgmental, pro-choice, sex-positive services to people of all ages, all genders and all orientations. No appointment needed.

What is Drop-In Counselling

• A place for individual adults to come when you need someone to talk to.
• A professional counsellor will listen to you and work with you to create a plan with next steps to begin the change you are looking for.
• This service is free and no appointment is needed.
• A counselling session is about 1.5 hours long. In many cases, a single visit is all that is needed.
• You will be seen on a first-come, first-seen basis. No appointments are booked in advance. Bring your favourite magazine or book to read while you are waiting or go out and grab a coffee.
• We are not able to provide childminding while you are in your session.
• If the counselling slots are full for the day, we will ask you to return on another day. You can come back to the clinic over time, but you cannot request a specific counsellor.

211 is a free, confidential, multilingual telephone and texting service for children, youth and their families with information and referral to a full range of community, social, and government services throughout the province.

BounceBack® is a free skill-building program designed to help adults and youth 15+ manage low mood, mild to moderate depression, anxiety, stress or worry. Delivered online or over the phone with a coach, you will get access to tools that will support you on your path to mental wellness.

Confident Parents: Thriving Kids is a family-focused phone-based coaching service effective in reducing mild to moderate behavioural problems and promoting healthy child development in children ages 3-12.

Through a series of 6 to 14 weekly coaching sessions, along with exercises and workbooks, trained coaches empower parents and/or caregivers to learn effective skills and techniques that support social skills and cooperation in their child

Offered at no cost to BC families, and coaches are available to speak with parents during day, evening and weekend hours to meet each family’s needs. You need a referral from your doctor.

The Interior Region Family Navigator works with CMHA branches throughout the Interior region. A Family Navigator helps parents and caregivers navigate the mental health/substance use system and helps parents and caregivers access community supports for their family.

The Family Navigator will reply to your message within 48 hours and, if appropriate, follow up with a caregivers assessment in person or via Skype. If you live in a rural area and/or do not have regular access to a computer, you can click here and download an online caregiver’s assessment and submit the form by email or fax.

FamilySmart™ is about achieving better mental health outcomes for children and youth. The FamilySmart website has information and tools for youth and their families.

A 24 hour  comprehensive help line for Children and Youth and for those who are concerned about them, including after hours /emergency service.
