Individual counselling focuses on us as individuals – how we operate in the world and how we have learned to be. We have all experienced some trauma and challenge in life and to survive we have learned coping strategies.
Sometimes, the strategies that we have used to keep us safe become overused and we can fall into living on ‘auto’ where aliveness and richness are no longer present. At other times, the strategies that we have used to keep us safe have become ineffective or even harmful and we may become depressed, hopeless or negative. Counselling can help us understand our imbalance and help us shift back into living more authentically.
